Professor Yash Tandon

Political Activist, Policy Maker, Author

Yash Tandon is from Uganda. He and his wife now live in Oxford.  He studied economics at the London School of Economics in late 1950s, and then taught at Makerere University in Uganda. During military rule in Uganda, he went into exile, and joined the underground movement in struggle for democracy in his country. From 2004 to 2009, he was the Executive Director of the South Centre, the think tank of the global South in Geneva. He founded the Southern and Eastern African Trade Information and Negotiations Institute (SEATINI). His recent publications include “Trade is War” (2015), and “The Trump Phenomenon and the Emergence of a New World Order” (2017). He has a monthly blog: www.yashtandon.com
